The Seeley Lake Swan area is a spectacular area located in the valleys of the Clearwater and Swan Rivers. The Bob Marshall and the Mission Mts. Wilderness are located on both sides of Hwy.83.
To reach the area from Missoula turn north near the Blackfoot River and the Clearwater Junction. The towns of Condon, Salmon Prairie and Seeley Lake are located in the valley.The area is 80 miles long and 30 miles wide.
There is a divide that provides momentum for the Clearwater River to flow north through a chain of lakes to the Blackfoot River. South, the main river becomes the Swan River and it runs north.
The town of Seeley Lake is about 2500 people. Condon has another 800. Elevation is 4000 ft. and it is just 60 miles to Missoula. The town of Seeley Lake is a very active tourist town in the summer. There are a large number of home sites on the lake and in the area. A number of lakes are in the area and many have homes and all provide fishing and camping. This wild country and bears are around. Homes run from $200,000 on up to the million $ plus. Many homes on the lake are on govt. lease land so be aware of title issues on the lake.
