Swan River, Montana
	Description: The Swan begins in the Mission Mountains at Grey Wolf Lake above Lindbergh Lake at an elevation of 5546 ft. and flows north between the Missions and The Bob Marshall Wilderness in the Rockies. After the river runs into the Swan Lake (8.2 miles long), it moves north and west towards Flathead Lake. In total the Swan river is 93 miles The river has several species of trout. The bull trout has a large presents with brook, rainbow and browns. The town of Bigfork, Montana at an elevation of 2893 ft.is located just north of mouth of the Swan River. There is confusion as to whether the properties on the bay are Flathead Lake or Swan river. As the draw down takes place in the fall it is obvious homes and condos are located on the Swan River. In the spring when the Lake is full it is confusing.. In the winter it is obvious those homes in Bigfork are on the river as it flows into the lake. Bigfork is a community with a lot of pride. There are a number of places to visit and enjoy.This is the show place for galleries, restaurants, and motels and guest ranches. The Eagle Bend golf course is a golfers dream. There are are lovely homes in this development. The mile or so of river above the dam just south of town is a very hot stretch of river that attracts kayakers from all over. Homes on the Swan are generally nice and it is unusual to find a home on the river under $300,000. There are lovely homes in the millon dollar plus price range. Homes may be a little less expensive as you drive south on Hwy. 83 towards the Seeley / Swan area.
